Sat was appointed as an Oral and Maxillofacial /Head and Neck /Reconstructive Surgeon at the University Hospital of Birmingham in 2003.
He is one of the directors of the European Head and Neck Course and the Head and Neck Oncology for Surgeons courses.
He is a former board member for the European Head and Neck Society and sits on the steering committee for the Make Sense Campaign.
He was a council member for the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists (BAHNO) and Past President for the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He was the chair for AOCMF for the United Kingdom and a former European Board member for AO. He has chaired and directed numerous AO and other courses.
He is a trustee for several charities
He is the author of numerous book chapters and publications.
He carries out most aspects of general Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery but his sub-specialist interest is Salivary Gland/Head and Neck Cancer and Reconstruction. He also has an interest in implant rehabilitation for head and neck cancer patients

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Laurent Ganry is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon practicing at the Gustave Roussy Cancer Campus in France. His practice Focuses primarily on both Head and Neck resections as microsurgical and non-microsurgical reconstructions. He also enjoys facial plastic surgery. Indluding aesthetics and facial feminization surgeries, and performing his own Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP) and surgical guides with open-source software. Dr. Ganry has obtained his MD degree in 2016 at the Sorbonne University in Paris – France, where he also complete General Surgery training and a Master in Surgical Sciences (M.Sc). After his residency, he completed a one year Head and Neck and microvascular reconstructive surgery clinical fellowship at the UF health – the University of Florida in Jacksonville, USA under the supervisión of Professor Rui Paulo Fernandez, and a 3-month plastic surgery and lymphedema super-microsurgery clinical fellowship at the NCGM in Tokyo, Japan, under the supervisión of Professor Takumi Yamamoto
